Long shot but:

I am looking for info on this song. It is sung by Steve Waller on Dicklovejoy's albm Southside United. Early 90's I think. I can't find any creditation for composition maybe Mudcatters know. Maybe some knew Steve from his London days. Steve wrote some excelent blues but is it one of his?

Steve was in Manfred Mann's Earth Band for 5 years and gigged with BB King in the UK. He died in 2000 here in Stroud.

I have finished a 5 minute video using photos and this song.

I guess his blues was little too pop for us here.

He was active in London etc 70's 80s and early 90's.

What is the title of the song you seek and do you have any of the lyrics you could post?

In The Dark Unknown
by Holcombe Waller

like a vision she stepped out*
And all the fear that fed his doubt
Just surrendered to the hour
The bridesmaids and the flowers
The promises they made before the gathered here todays
Well i crept through the reception
Like a child freshly scorned
I caught up with all my old friends
Tending to their newborns
I thought i could have cried
But all my ghosts laid down and died

I'm ready to go my way
River life take your knife and cut these tethered weights
Cut them free
Let me be the way that i must be
Let things flow where they must go
Into the dark unknown

Mother will i disappoint you
If i can't make it back upstream
I am fighting i am fighting
But i don't make the team

Son i've stood here by your father
Over 30 some odd years
If there's one thing i should tell you
You have to face your own fear
Whether married or alone you are always on your own

I'm ready to go my way
River life take your knife and cut these tethered weights
Cut them free
Let me be the way that i must be
Let things flow where they must go
Into the dark unknown

Hey look now
There we go
