From: GUEST,Bill Darlington

I have almost all the lyric, apart from one line (see below). an anyone add or correct.
As two mates an' I were startin up the Buachaille wi oor gear,
We spied a dozen Englishman as the mist began tae clear.
"Oh, how d'ye know they're Englishmen?" the mater tae me they said.
"Ah can tell the way the crows keep circling up above their heads"

Chorus: Wi ma right fol-the-diddle, Tae ma right fol-the-day.

Now one of these Lakeland hardmen overheard ma bold aside,
An' venturing off his fixed rope he up tae us did stride.
Using perfect English he said "Youse think we're daft.
Oh ya haiyr Scotch bastards, ye don't know nothing, not arf!"

Chorus

Now we were easy-goin'lads but this was to much tae take
And in callin' us all Scotch Bastards he'd really sealed his fate.
Sticks and stones won't break oor bones
But one name turns us pale.
Aye nobody calls us Scotch and later lives tae tell the tail.

Chorus

They rushed us all once, "Rule Britannia" was their roar,
A great mistake 'cos they had never been on ice before.
An' as three went slidin' past us they learned the hardest way,
As Robbie's lobster claws front-pointed up their vertebrae.

Chorus

The other eight were luckier for Robbie's axe was quick.
As they went slidin' past us he stopped them wi' the pick.
?????????????????????????????????????????????????
An' the waters all ran red as the blood came tircklin' doon.

Chorus

The last one turned a deathly shade but proudly said to us
"I'll try to do the honourable thing, as all we English must."
He took oot his poly bag and tied ower his heid,
Then turned red, white, blue and rolled over…deid.

Chorus

So come all ye Lakeland hardmen when tackle Scottish snow,
Make sure that ye don't up a dead man in Glencoe.
An ice axe and some crampons will lower your death toll.
Aye there's nothin' like bein' weel geared-up when the heids being tae roll.

Chorus
