Nuts. I really wanted to hear this one, Adrien. But I got one one of those little red x's in the upper left; click it for properties and I get that it's an unencoded mp3, but "unavailable". It must be something in my computer setup, as I've gotten this with some other things that others seem to get ok. But I've messed around all over the place in my settings and haven't been able to straighten it out yet.

Heart-rending.

But doesn't explain rampant injustice in America. Freedom and justice for all, my ass.

You know your right. I blew this one. To much wine last evening. However, I still think that Red Skelton was a great comedian.

Well, I guess that for me, Red Skelton will always be a symbol of jingoistic, sentimental Americanism - (click). Maybe I'm too cynical, maybe I'm reacting to how the right wingers have taken possession of his "Pledge" video. I have to admit that I always enjoyed his television program when I was a kid. Clem Kadiddlehopper was one of my favorite characters.

Mr. Skelton, in his later years, was quite critical of 'off-color' comedy, yet his pre-TV radio show of the 1940's and early 1950's was, for its time, rather racey.

An example: the previous poster's favorite character, Clem Kadiddlehopper, trying, unsuccessfully, to ride a horse, which kept throwing him off: "Ya can't throw me now, horse! I've got ya by the saddle horn! Oops, that's no saddle horn, that's ME!"

P.S. Mr. Skelton's films, all, I believe, made for Columbia, were VERY funny, particularly "The Fuller Brush Man", its sequel "The Yellow Cab Man", and three films in which he played a radio detective, "Whistling in Dixie", "Whistling in Brooklyn", and "Whistling in the Dark".
