It has some great interviews with Ray Davies of the Kinks, Joe Brown of the Bruvvers and also Roy Hudd, but the show-stealer is Eliza Carthy and Mawkin knocking out the original version of St James Infirmary Blues. Is it really the version of The Unfortunate Rake which refers to Woolwich Barracks? I have never thought of the song St James Infirmary which seems also seem to have developed from the same source to be a blues. Hoot |
