09 Jul 12 - 02:03 PM (#3374043) Subject: RE: Cleckheaton Folk Festival From: Vin2 Well, that was my first Cleckie fest. A great w/end it was too. The weather didn't dampen the spirits. I was booked to camp but chickened out on Thursday and stayed in b & b instead....may use the tent next year tho all bein well. Am with you Ray on the singarounds. I went up to the Wickham a couple of times but far too heaving. Am sure you or Joe & Mo or t'other MC's could run a good couple of singarounds in the George or Commercial upstairs. A few of my fave moments? Well Vin G of course, and the Youg Uns (please bring back for a star billing sometime), Blackstone Edge, Martin Simpson, Mike Forsyth from Copper Kettle (well done to him - hope Peter gets better soon) and of course the always brilliant and lovely Hazel and Linda of Hissyfit. Anyroadup, many thanks to all the committee for a fab w/end and hope to see y'all next yerar. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Then just as we were leaving we spotted a Youngun who gathered the others and held an impromptu concert outside Wetherspoons..priceless. thanks to everyone on the committee for arranging this wonderful festival! |
