Concert was brilliant, how these guys manage to stay fresh and committed is beyond me. Their new stuff was cunningly interspersed with the old but beautifully crafted. Their backing band was very, very good too. Don't know whether they're session men or Proclaimer's regulars - either way, stunningly good. If you're at a loose end, you could do worse than to toddle along and see them in action. They don't stop to do meaningless drivel, they just get on and do the singing - brilliant. Brilliant value for money and highly recommended. Thank you guys. |

One of his friends commented that they were rubbish (crap was the word he actually used). My son said he did not think they were that good! |

They don't do a great deal of talking in between songs, just a small introduction or two, but are extremely polished and very tight musically. I have always felt we got value for money. They have some excellent lyrics and write very good songs in my opinion. |

Guest, guest, might just say more about your son at that time than them. I reckon they've got better with age. It's all subjective anyway, we were a foursome and all enjoyed it immensely. Age range 29-62. |

Anybody else see the Proclaimers 25 years ago? |

I think it is possible to dislike music but appreciate that it is well written or played with consideable skill etc. Thank goodness we're all different! :-) |

It may well be that the duo are better than averagely talented and at that time were put in front of a non appreciative audience by that root of all evil - money. I have to confess that their only chart success leaves me cold. It could be that they, like a lot of other acts, have been sucked into trying to perform in two (or more) different genres and only half succeeded at each. I have for many years thought it sad that there is not a stage for people such as them where they can entertain a sizable portion of the populace who do not want to listen to the pap/pop churned out by the big boys. I would also respectfully suggest that the traditional folk world is not that stage. |
