We started planning this fishing trip last October and it has finally arrived. Weather looks very promising and were told the fish are biting. A month ago we spend an evening planning all our meals and today we did the grocery trip. We left two spots open for trout meals. Batteries charged for the electric motors (2 boats supplied.)and camera's are at hand. We leave tomorrow at noon and check in time is at 4. Check out is noon Thursday. We will be on a private lake (one cottage)3 hours north of Montreal. One cell phone for emergency purposes only. No other electronic allowed. Catch ya later. Adrien |

08 Jul 12 - 08:54 PM (#3373760) Subject: RE: BS: Going Fishing With From: Big Al Whittle I've been thinking of fishing. Then I think - why ruin a fish's day, just because your own life has been empty and frustrating. I bought a couple of second hand rods off the market. Its not got further than that. |

08 Jul 12 - 09:18 PM (#3373773) Subject: RE: BS: Going Fishing With From: Beer Thanks Maeve, JtS, Rap. Sorry to hear your having problems Al. maybe you should find the time to do a little fishing. Can be a great form of meditation. Just laying back doing nothing. It really doesn't matter if you cat a fish or not. Rap! Never piss in the wind right! Ad. |

08 Jul 12 - 09:31 PM (#3373777) Subject: RE: BS: Going Fishing With From: GUEST,punkfolkrocker I was a semi rural west country kid. Fishing was my life - every spare hour I could get away from school & homework was happily wasted away down the old flooded clay pits.... Then girls & guitars beckoned.......... Not touched a fishing rod since I was 16. |

09 Jul 12 - 09:33 AM (#3373932) Subject: RE: BS: Going Fishing With From: GUEST,999 I've been fishing with Adrien before. He bought me a fishing license and took us out to his favourite fiddle head--picking spot and we combined that with an hour's fishing where a fellow had taken out a 20" brown trout a day or two before. I hadn't touched a fishing pole in 40 years. While showing me the proper way to cast he got his hook stuck in a tree across the river, gave a mighty yank on the line and reeled in a piece of bark which I kept, wrote best wishes to my how to catch fish teacher and presented it to him at Cafe Namasthe during a set I was doing. He took it in stride as a good friend would. Ad, watch your back: kids at 13 can do camp chores. I know you'll have a great time. The kids are learning vital skills and they will cherish the memories from this and previous trips. |

09 Jul 12 - 10:00 AM (#3373943) Subject: RE: BS: Going Fishing With From: Beer Now that is one heck of a fish story. Unjfortunately.... All true. I will bring you and your soul mate a few trout back. Our quota is 15 each but Just Aaron and I can take the quota. While there we can eat as much as we want but if the boys took their quota than they would have to pay for the trip as an adult. 13 and under it is free. Tonight's meal is already prepared. Made chicken stew last evening so there will be lots of time to fish this evening supper being already prepared. Now I have to go and prepare a pancake mix for breakfast tomorrow morning. Wild blueberries will be cooked and poured over them. Got to go. By the way. The trophy that was presented to me is hanging on the wall |

We did have a great time but the fishing was not to good. To damn hot I guess. Caught 10 between the 4 of us. I've hit them on the nose with bait and they just got annoyed and move away. Only a very special artificial bait works on them in that kinda weather... the CIL Wobbler*. * Canadian Industries Limited. Mfg of explosives. |

15 Jul 12 - 06:55 PM (#3376744) Subject: RE: BS: Going Fishing With From: ranger1 I always liked the idea of fishing, but I don't eat fish. However, I could just tie a worm on the end of a string and feed them, couldn't I? Lol. |
|
15 Jul 12 - 07:57 PM (#3376765) Subject: RE: BS: Going Fishing With From: Beer Actually ranger you can fish with a hook. Just file or cut the barb off. it's call catch and release. ad. |
|
15 Jul 12 - 08:58 PM (#3376791) Subject: RE: BS: Going Fishing With From: GUEST,olddude I take pliers and pinch down the barbs on my flies ... that way it doesn't hurt the trout and easy to release. |

15 Jul 12 - 09:15 PM (#3376799) Subject: RE: BS: Going Fishing With From: Beer Yup, that works as well for sure. Back of my yard is the Chateauguay river where we have monster Muskies and average size Pike. There is also large mouth and small mouth bass. My son and his buddies (oh and beautiful Walleye. Called Doré in Quebec.)fish all day at times and it is all catch and release. There is no trout in the river although they are trying to introduce them. ad. |
