I have been ignoring advice ( by Mozilla) to upgrade to the latest version 13. something ?? They claim this version cures a number of security and other issues. I have heard that there are a number of problems with upgrading and I am loath to do so if it will bring me problems. I am sure there must be many members here who use the newer versions. Adblock Plus works fine, but be aware that some of the Firefox add-ons don't work with versions that are newer than the one that they were designed for. |

During the installation process, I got a popup that said something about how a specific add - on (or was it a plug in?) was known to create instability with Firefox and would be disabled. I said sure, why not? Can't have instability, can we? I think the add - on (or plug - in)might have been for the Adobe Flash Player, but it might have been for Real Player. Big difference, I know, but I wasn't paying close enough attention at the time and put my trust in the folks at Mozilla. In any case, I now can't view any videos from within Firefox. Whenever I come across anything I'd like to see on YouTube or MSNBC, I have switch over to Internet Explorer. Most annoying. Mike |

10 Jul 12 - 12:58 AM (#3374270) Subject: RE: TECH Mozilla Firefox From: Stilly River Sage There was an error that Firefox sent out an update for - I was having that same problem you describe, I tried updating Flash and various things and nothing would let me view YouTube. When the Firefox update came through that fixed it, so I would suggest you click on the "Help" tab and go to the homepage and download whatever they have there to download. I'm pretty certain that is what is going to fix your browser. SRS |

I've had problems with flash updates, make sure Firefox is your main browser to download the correct flash. Firefox quite often disables old plugins that no longer work with the latest version,update your plugins (sometimes there are no updates). I've always thrown caution to the wind and updated as available and not had any problems (yet!). |

I did get a message from Mozilla that said the REAL Player plug-in was out of date but I just ignored that. I haven't tried to use Realplayer but no doubt sometime I will have to sort it. I went to the Firefox Help page and found an article titled Flash 11.3 Doesn't Load Video in Firefox. I wound up unchecking the "Enable Web Download and Recording for these installed browsers" box and I've got my video back. Mike |

Web Download and Recording, I might be creating some new problems with Real Player, so I went to Folk Alley, Classical 24, and Jazz 24. They all continue to work fine with Real Player. Mike |
