20 Oct 99 - 08:13 PM (#126157) Subject: Lyr Add: THE KING AND I (Fred Koller) From: Roger in Baltimore I learned this song off the CD. In concert, Fred does an additional verse that includes a line like "I saw Elvis Presley and Woody Guthrie". Anybody know that verse?
The King and I
I saw Elvis Presley and Amelia Earhart,
CHO:
I saw Elvis Presley and John Belushi,
I saw Elvis Presley at the Strike and Spare,
I saw Elvis Presley and Yul Brynner, Roger in Baltimore |

20 Oct 07 - 07:28 AM (#2175195) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The King and I (Fred Koller) From: Jim Dixon Allmusic.com says THE KING AND I was written by John Gorka and Fred Koller--a one-off collaboration, apparently. As far as I can tell, John Gorka hasn't recorded it, but Billy C. Wirtz did. It's on his album "Sermon from Bethlehem," and it's on Fred Koller's album "Songs from the Night Before." Maybe this information will be useful to somebody. |
