Hi John,

Hope this answer isn't too late for you. The Grapes still has sessions M-F at 9 pm (according to my Jun-Aug 2012 issue of Stirrings, a publication I highly recommend!).

Its website includes a handy diary which shows there is also apparently a session tonight at the White Lion -- for Singers and Musicians.

Hope this helps...

johncharles is a Barnsley folk club regular and knows about Stirrings, we haven't yet had Mr Greenoaken's regular quarterly visit!

Where is the White Lion?

Ray

Thanks Vicki for info

Ended up in Fagans and as luck would have it Raymond Greenoaken was present and I acquired a copy of Stirrings.

Ah Fagans! I dropped in for a session there on a Friday last year - some fearsome musicians and a wild night.

Will, Fagan's is amazing, isn't it?

Ray, apparently the White Lion is in Sheffield city centre, on London Road. Here's the website: http://www.whitelionsheffield.co.uk/
(I say "apparently" because even though I live in Sheffield, I've never noticed it before, and had no idea where it was 'til I googled it...
so much for my powers of observation!)

John, glad you managed to find yourself a session; even better that you bumped into Raymond!

In future John you can take charge of the Stirrings when Raymond G comes to Barnsley

I could have bought one froma different source the other day but stayed loyal!
