Lyr Req: 'How could I be drunk when I'm sleepin?'

Dear Friends,

That quote was between songs on a British album from the 1960's. Also, between another song, there was a spoken interlude involving a chimney sweep that pushed something down a chimney and the guy inside was covered in soot, "and all he got was his white eyeballs." I'd love to know what album that came from.

Thanks,

Bob

I'll mention this LP on this thread as well

The End "Introspection"

One of the first LPs I ever bought...
it was going cheap in the local record shop bargain bin
and I liked the look of the sleeve art.

I've not heard it for a long time but the spoken between track dialogue you quote
sounds vaguely familiar.

People here might frown if I suggest this LP can be easily googled for music nostalgia blogs
hosting the full album mp3 download,
to confirm if it's the one you are looking for.

So I'd best not suggest that.

..and a very fine but tragically forgotten LP is.

Thankfully the CD release brought it to the attention of a wider audience.

Fallout from The Rolling Stones Business problems [Bill Wyman produced the LP]
caused it to fail miserably and sink without trace in 1969.

That's why I found it being sold off so cheap only a couple of years later.

The only place the band were a success was in Spain

Amazing how a copy turned up in Vietnam !!!???

I took the copy from a medical admin person named Buddy Taylor, who was a brilliant artist who was way ahead of his time. We were in, of all places, Ohio together. I got such a kick out of the spoken word tracks, Bromley Common and Jacob's Bladder, that I memorized the words. After many years, the words stayed but the origin faded. Thanks so much for bringing me up to speed.
