This website, dedicated to all things Jesse Winchester, has been up since the beginning of the year. It has some really good articles about Jesse. Today I noticed a new post of an article from Zygote Magazine January 8 1971. I have not read it yet, but it has some great early photos of Jesse in Montreal. The cover shows him standing in front of a Montreal restaurant.

Jesse's early albums are in print again, this time on Edsel Records. The first 6 were issued on 3 twofers. "Talk Memphis" was issued alone but with six bonus tracks, 3 of which are songs that are never before released outtakes from the studio sessions. I bought mine from Amazon UK. Even with the shipping it was the cheapest I could find.

Thanks Judy. I have put this in my favorites and will also pass the site on to friends. Just finished watching a good number of the videos as well. After his bout with cancer it sure is good to see that he is back on tour.

Aztec Two-Step has some very good video of Jesse on their 15th Anniversary Concert DVD (1986). He does "Yankee Lady" , "Rhumba Man" and support on a couple of other songs. However, the DVD is very inconvenient to use - it has no menu - you can't skip to the next song.

You can see the "Yankee Lady" performance on YouTube. Unfortunately, the video and audio go out of sync in the second half.

There is also a very funny performance of "Helpless Blues" by David Bromberg on that DVD.

The link to therhumbaman.com is posted on Jesse's website , so he wants people to see all this stuff. "The Studio answers age old questions" on the ETC page is pretty funny.

Thanks for helping get the word out on Rhumbaman.com

I want nothing more than getting Jesse the credit he so richly deserves.

There is a tribute album in the works for Jesse. I don't know when it is going to be released.

Scroll down about half-way to read about it.

Judy,

Thanks for that information. I had no idea that was in the works. He so deserves a tribute album.

Thanks for the links Judy. Love the list of tunes and artist that contributed. Also pleased to see that no one tried to do "Sham-A-Ling-Dong-Ding".

Just found this, after all these years. Memories...

Jesse belongs in the Hall of Fame. I consider him to be one of the world's greatest songwriters.
