From: Richard Bridge Your Ovation will already have been pluggable, but I suspect will not have had the big acoustic voice of one of these. Mine is nearly as good as my Mugen THE 78 (six) and my Mugen THE 78 12 (which I think you have heard if you are who I think you are) acoustically. On the other hand your ovation will probably not have the tendency these do to yield a fraction to the string tension. I am having Brian Rodgers electrify mine and put two bridge doctors in. If you want another Ovation to go with your twin neck I know a girl selling an Ovation Adamas 12 which is lovely - carbon fibre top, built in tuner - all the toys! |

My main area of "Expertise" is in open backed banjos not guitars but I find lots of your contributions -as above- interesting. My own guitar is a Lakewood -a very early model- which is not pluggable (yet) as well as a 1982 Ovation short neck Folklore. Thats in addition to several yamahas and various classical guitars. The banjos currently number 26 and I am currently building no. 27 |
