I heard a chorus song that I cannot get out of my head, the chorus went" there I beheld a bold fisherman come sailing down the sea.   Any suggestions appreciated.

Not quite, but I think you must mean this one - it's in the Digitrad - http://www.mudcat.org/@displaysong.cfm?SongID=5938 ("The Bold Fisherman" - but not "Bold Fisherman", which is a completely different song!)...

Thanks for the enlightenment, Terry. Not sure I'll add "NAD" to my vocabulary, but there it is.

Tatterfoal, have we found the song you're seeking?

I like Dick's playing and singing very much, but if you want a slightly different take on this song, seek out the Copper Family's version, which is in a somewhat ragged 5/4 time. This works well in unaccompanied singing, and has a very distinctive sound about it, but when accompaniment is introduced, it usually gets evened out into a more conventional 3/4 time. Each version has its merits.
