Sorry for having an opinion, but to me it looks very much like the "subject" runs like a man in a gorilla suit.

The "gait" is unsuited to a creature with the body mass implied by the body outline, even assuming a very heavy fur coat. (In US terms, it runs like a basketballer, and should move more like a fat fullback.)

Of course, I'll wait for the DNA analysis of the hairs undoubtedly left on the brush the "thing" ran through. And surely they scared the poop out of this wild and reclusive thing, so a "scat profile" will give a good indication of diet, providing an exceedingly reliable indication of where and how it feeds. Even a cursory "stakeout" of feeding grounds will certainly provide additional sightings, so further documentation (i.e. more pictures) should certainly be expected.

Or it could just crawl in the ATV that carried it and the camera to the woods, and go home and call a press conference.

(A doubter or two is necessary to keep the discussion going, isn't it?)

John

Could be a genuine Bigfoot. Or it could be an APP supporter rushing to caucus. Or it could be both at the same time.

I agree. That struck me too. In a similar vein, I think that policemen all move somewhat the same, i.e. a bottom-heavy gait, as though they were attached to the earth. I don't know if it's because of the gear (revolver, holster, baton)but I've never seen one walk or run in a fluid manner.

I know today's kids are never without their camera-phones, but I have to wonder what's so compelling about driving a dirt bike down a logging trail that anyone, besides a total noob who's never ridden a bike in the woods before, would want to make a video of it in the first place? To have Bigfoot amble across the trail while a camera just happened to be recording an everyday ride down an unexceptional trail is too coincidental to suit me. I vote for "Staged".

Given the likelihood that Bigfoot...if they do exist...definitely would not want to be EVER be "discovered" by humanity, they would surely be delighted by any and all statements issued by skeptics asserting the extreme unlikelihood of their existence.

They would even probably be eager to issue such statements themselves and disseminate them widely, while posing as humans, of course, when they did it.

This prompts me to wonder. Could JohnInKansas actually BE a Bigfoot? Or could he just be a paid agent working on their behalf? ;-D And what about you, Ebbie? What is your true foot size? (Heh! Heh!)

I agree about the policemen, by the way. They do tend to move in a bottom-heavy fashion, and it probably is their gear that causes them to. Or it might be their heavy leather shoes. Or both.

The real reason, by the way, that Bigfoot tend to hide away in the really deep and remote forest regions is this: they're trying to avoid Spaw. That's why you never see them at the corner store or at WalMart.

My thoughts exactly, BWL. Why were they videoing anything?

Why not? People video just about anything these days. They seem to think their life is more "real" when they see it happening on screen, no matter how mundane the situation.

The biggest danger to compromising Bigfoot secrecy, in fact, is that a lot of younger Bigfoots have been carrying cellphones in recent years and are videoing each other and everything else around them. The older Bigfoots are desperate about it, but they can't seem to control their youngsters.

I wonder if the Amish ever have problems like that with their kids?

"I wonder if the Amish ever have problems like that with their kids?" Nah. Of course not.

About my foot size... I spent years of my youth fantasizing about living secretly in the woods. You suppose it was a memory?

Ahhhh... is the slo-mo different from the first footage? The slo-mo pans to the right while Dumbfoot is in the middle of the trail, doesn't it? Why? Something to do with magnification?

24 Aug 12 - 10:24 PM (#3394740)
Subject: RE: BS: OMG! Bigfoot in Ohio

The camera is apparently mounted on the handlbars, fixed forward like the headlamp. He (or she) had to turn the bars to the right to get the bike to tip to the left to begin the U-turn on the trail, then bars hard left to make the turn. The magnification is probably centered in the frame and so swings with amplification wherever that front wheel is pointing, not at the critter.

My reaction, I think, would not be to turn tail, but rather to stop. Then creep forward to have a better look.

I'm not known for bravery, but I'm also not known for being too swift upstairs.

I too vote for "staged".

Hell no. Chase it when it runs. That's how you learn to find it. Basic instinct for any animal withot a video camera.

And, really. Bigfoot is down toward Cap Pele tending a seasonal trailer park. Be da lard jaysus dat lad had heavy feet. How he could shuffle leaves and thump shale at the same time was beyond me.

Yes, actually. You do have to live in the backwoods of Kent County, NB, Canada (or any other redneck/good ol boy/somewhat eccentric fellow spot) to get that joke. Given that I am one of the few here, at least I entertained myself with that joke and that is what counts.

Naw...he's too lazy to bother walkin' that far. And that is why Bigfoot are found in the woods. They are tryin' to avoid encounterin' Spaw. It is also why ya don't find 'em in WalMart. WalMart is more like Bigass territory.

Well, yah, of course we have bigfoot in Ohio.

Anyone who listens to the fabulous Smokin Fez Monkeys has likely heard Tim Wallace's first person song about meeting bigfoot in "Bigfoot Boogie." Indeed, this song has been around for a couple decades, so that Tim's fans all know how to DO the Bigfoot Boogie, complete with sound effects.

Ohio, wonderfully diverse - it ain't just Austin that needs to be kept weird.

Man killed during Bigfoot hoax
Trooper: 'You can't make it up'
Tuesday, August 28, 2012

KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) — A man dressed in a military-style "ghillie" suit and apparently trying to provoke reports of a Bigfoot sighting in northwest Montana was struck by two cars and killed, authorities said.

The man was standing in the right-hand lane of U.S. Highway 93 south of Kalispell on Sunday night when he was hit by the first car, according to the Montana Highway Patrol. A second car hit the man as he lay in the roadway, authorities said.

"He was trying to make people think he was Sasquatch so people would call in a Sasquatch sighting," Schneider told the Daily Inter Lake on Monday. "You can't make it up. I haven't seen or heard of anything like this before. Obviously, his suit made it difficult for people to see him."

The winner 2012 -
"Zookeeper Friedrich Riesfeldt (Paderborn , Germany) fed his constipated elephant 22 doses of animal laxative and more than a bushel of berries, figs and prunes before the plugged-up giant finally got relief. Investigators
say ill- fated Friedrich, 46, was attempting to give the ailing elephant an olive oil enema when the relieved beast unloaded. The sheer force of the elephant's unexpected (expletive deleted) knocked Mr Riesfeldt to the ground where he struck his head on a rock as the elephant continued to drop 200 pounds of sh#t on top of him. It seems to be just one of those freak accidents that proves...

I love that story about the zookeeper and the elephant. ;-D (Although...it is quite tragic.)
