BS: My angel is a center troll

well visiting my mom back home I ran into an old high school girlfriend.

In High School every guy wanted her. She was a dead ringer for Tiger Woods Ex wife. Smart, beautiful

could have knocked me over. I know none of us look like we did in HS. Especially me. Years take their toll but today

300 lbs, missing front tooth, tatoo's, and every other word was
preceded by the F-bomb ...

wow, just like the song, can't go back we can never go back

amazing

Wow. Just think, had you married her...

I don't think I'll ever understand the current craze for tattoos. It seems to me that it *must* be a fad, just a phase. Can you imagine Granny and Gramps, age 85, 'decorated' with tats to the eyeballs. How cool is that.

As for the f-word, this one is used so frequently, so unabashedly, it is becoming mainstream; makes me wonder what the next 'forbidden' word is going to be.

Agreed Ebbie
as the song said
"my blood runs cold, my memory has just been sold, my angel is a center troll .. angel is a center troll"

I have never heard the phrase "center troll" before and Google isn't helping.

What does it mean?

If that's how your angel looks now in your eyes ....... have you thought how you might look in hers?

Time take its toll on us all.

It's obviously a result of her disappointment in not marrying you. She sort of let herself go ;)

Guess I'm lucky... My P-Vine looks better now than when she was in high school and she was a knock out in high school???

Me??? Ahhhhh, not so... I was 6'1", 140 pounds in high school with dark brown hair... Down to 6'0" and 167 now with gray hair...

I've often wondered what my high school girl friends look like but have lost track of them both... No, no... One was from 9th and 10th grade and older and went off to college then the other was 11th and 12th... No two-timer here... The last one looked a lot like Sarah Palin...

I had a similar experience a couple of years back. My father's youngest brother was only a few years older than me. When he got married at age 20 or so and brought his new wife to meet the family. She was short, cute, and my then 14 year-old self thought she was about the hottest thing that had ever been created. If there's some commandment about coveting thine uncle's wife, I broke it to pieces.

So, about two years ago, I'm hawking my pottery at an art show 400 miles from where I live, and this little dumpy woman walks into my booth, looks at the name on my sign, and asks for my father's name. I tell her and she informs me that she used to be married to his brother. Yes, it was my one-time aunt by marriage whom I'd had the hots for 45 years back. This woman was as round as she was tall and had a nose like W.C. Fields. Not exactly a troll. More like a cross between a troll and a dwarf, but without the beard.

The girl I most fancied at high school (in New Zealand) was dying of leukaemia last time I found her on the web. Can't find her now.

I have managed to find two women on the web from when I was at university.

Sharleen Forbes

Ngahuia Te Awekotuku

I kinda fancied Sharleen but she was very much taken. She still looks pretty good to me. Never fancied Ngahuia though I had a thing for her (now untraceable) roommate. I could live with the moko and the tattooed lips - grey is okay - going lesbian, well that's life. But she seems to have gone white as well (Maori brown back then), and how that happened I can't imagine.

When I was in high school, I had a serious crush on a gorgeous girl.... she was popular, good student, and in the drama club. Everyone knew her & liked her. One Summer she was in line at the store I where I worked near the school.... she was wearing this red, white & blue shorts and blouse that had me gasping... wow...
I was just (I thought) a skinny nerd who played in the band. I never dreamed of actually being a part of her social circle, much less anything serious, although she was never anything but pleasant & friendly toward me.

So... 10 years later, after college, her name came up in some discussion with mutual acquaintances, and someone said.."Oh, yeah... I knew her, and a couple years ago, YOUR name came up, and Susie said.."Oh..Bill D...I went to HS with him. I always wondered why he never asked me for a date!"

arrrggg.. I just googled her, and she looks better than *I* do at 70+.
She also still goes by her maiden name. I have no idea if she ever married.
Life is full of "what ifs"

At my last HS reunion, there were three or four of the females who, to me, looked about as good as ever - and a couple maybe even better; but out of a class of ~470 the odds were about as expected. It was a little surprising that a greater percentage of the guys might have looked healthier than most of the remaining females, but "standards are lower" for male pulchritude, I'm told; and outward appearances aren't always a good indicator of who's "fit to function."

Another wild celebration coming up in a month or so (five years since the previous one) so it will be interesting to see who can stagger home for it. Only a small remaining fraction of the class is stil "local."

The last one was a "big un" (fiftieth) so attendees will likely be much fewer this time, even disregarding the five years of natural attrition. I didn't get a really accurate count of how many showed up at the last one, but it was definitely >10% of the original class. I'd guess 3% or fewer for the next off-decade one, but won't know 'till it happens.

I've gotten in the habit of checking the local obits every morning while I get my first cuppa - to see if I might be there, but usually by the second cup I might get by without the external assurance. (Sometimes I can't be really sure until about halfway through the third cup.)

I do expect to see a handful of my good friends at the next reunion, and the ones I'm looking forward to, who were my closest associates back then, are gonna look pretty d***d good.

John

I went to North High, John.... they held the 50th reunion in, I think, year 48. The math program there was never special. I never attended a reunion.

(the lady I mention is still listed at her original address on N. Garland) Every now & then I am tempted to call her and say, "Do you have any idea how you affected the boys back then?"... then I say, "nawwwwwwww"

I found a guy I'd had a crush on in college on Facebook, and was horrified to discover that he was a mama's boy. Happily he did NOT have a crush on me. He's still single after all these years. as is often the case with mama's boys.

Bill -

You probably would be safe going to a reunion. My observation was that by about the 30th even the people who recognize you will probably have forgotten what everybody said about ya.

I actually "dated" more classmates after getting reacquainted at my 35th reunion (during a brief period when I was single) than I did while I was in HS. (But I missed a couple of good-uns even then.)
