Does anyone remember the Cluster of Nuts Band? Well they are reforming for a one off ceilidh for the Bothy Folk Club ceilidh in Southport.
It will be at St Johns Hall, Wright St(opposite the side entrance to the station), Southport. on Fri 12th Oct 8pm, real ale bar (B Y O glasses, soft drinks, wine etc). For full info see the Bothy Folk Club website.
Cheers

Cluster of Nuts began as the University of Surrey ceilidh club house band ca 1979.
From the top of my head: Graham Harrison (drums), Alison Cowley (accordion), Chris Nelson (fiddle), Jennie Jones (flute), Mike Jones (caller), posibly Barry Fogden (but I might be confusing him with members of the university morris team).

Well remembered George. We actually started in October 1977, so this is our 35th anniversary gig! And yes, Barry Fogden was in the original lineup.

This year, the band is Chris Nelson (fiddle), Alison Heywood (nee Cowley) (accordion, saxophone), Siobhan Nelson (vocals), David Good (guitar), Brian Heywood (bass) and Mike Vishnik (drums). And, of course, we look forward to working again with Dave Townsend (as caller) for the first time in many years.
