12 Oct 12 - 07:31 AM (#3418528) Subject: RE: National Dialect Day 2012 From: GUEST,Black Belt Caterpillar Wrestler I never picked up the local dialect in Somerset when I was little. I remember that some of the older members of the community talked in such a way that I could not understand them. Nobody talks that way nowadays, there are lots of words missing from the vocabulary. Unfortunately I cannot remember them as they made no sense to me at the time. However, I do find that I can understand enough of what Sid says to make sense of what he says! Must be an age and experience thing. |
