Come on, Mike Harding, you can do this!

Rise above the BBC Bastards and GO FOR IT!

Here's how....

How can it be live when folk is dead?

Ah, but Live From The Cowshed, streamed via the internet, would Bring It Back to Life, levels! :0)

Zombie folk? A new genre!

I thought this was just great Lizzie. In fact I shared one of KT Tunstall's songs on my facebook.
What great talent.

"Zombie folk? A new genre!"

No, it already exists - mostly amongst shanty singers (runs for cover).

Isn't it a wonderful idea, Adrien! I'm watching Daryl and Rumer at the moment..also superb.

Live From Daryl's House - More videos

Mike could do great things with this idea, I know he could..and he already has the right kind of place for it with where he lives..

OK Folk Zombies and sea shanties apart,

The Idea of Mike putting out a program on the net at the same time as the radio 2 broadcast has merit. I have not listened to radio 2 for several years, so I've not heard his show. An online show, well maybe I would listen. If the Beeb were trying to get him to follow lines he didn't like there could be an opportunity for a refreshing change.

The only thing that would change (IMO) would be the amount of needle time allowed and as MH only seems to have a very limited folk music collection all that we would get would be more of the same.

Strange idea that MH only plays music from his "collection". Much more likely, he plays a selection of what he is sent gratis by artists, record companies and agents.

No good doing anything tongue in cheek here is it?

I am well aware of where most of the stuff will originate - just don't believe his choice of material to play will alter a great deal.

I also doubt that he would be prepared to run a programme or whatever you would wish to call it without payment. I am sure he has far better (gainful) ways to fill in his time.

This isn't about Mike playing CDs, this is about Live Music being videoed on the internet, being played by the very people who make up 'The Folk World', just like the 'Live From Daryl's House' link I put in the first post on here...

Or, you could call it 'The Yorkshire Sessions'... :0)

I still don't think Mike would be interested.

Perhaps someone should ask him - I would respectfully suggest not via Mudcat.
