Thanks Come closer to daddy my darling There's something I want you to do I want you to make me a promise I want you to keep it true They say that I'm wicked and all that is bad And there may be a part of it true But I've been a good daddy to you Tomorrow there taking you from me It will break daddy's heart when you gone Always think of daddy What ever you may do |

About when did you first hear it? Where (in a bar, church, at a party, club, etc)? What country? What I'm coming up with is stuff like "Come close my baby girl I've got something I need to say I'll miss you my darling child I'm so sorry I gotta go away So say goodbye cos daddy's going to heaven now So say goodbye cos daddy's going to heaven now" and I don't think that's it. |

Tell me, please, daddy dear: is the world really round?
Little one, little one, yes, the world's really round,
Don't be sad, daddy dear; if it's true the world's round, |

This song was a request from my website [some of you may know it] The woman that requested it says her father used to sing it to her when she was a little girl. Her father came from Ireland and she thinks it may be a rebel song as he sang a lot of them. But I don't think this one is Irish or rebel. Now and again I get requests for song and I generally get most, the few I don't get I come here looking. If the ladies and gents here don't know it then it probibly doesn't exist ? |
