29 Nov 12 - 05:40 PM (#3444535) Subject: RE: George Papavgeris (new): Better Days From: George Papavgeris Aw, thanks Kitty! Lonesome EJ, the "electric guitar" is in fact the same acoustic one, but with the trebles down to the minimum in the equaliser and bass frequencies up to the maximum; that gives it the "sweetness" you referred to. |

03 May 24 - 01:42 PM (#4201963) Subject: RE: Lyr Add: BETTER DAYS (George Papavgeris) From: Jim Dixon Here are the lyrics, transcribed by me from George’s sound file (see above). BETTER DAYS George Papavgeris, Nov. 2012 Remember times when hearts were light, And dreams were ready to take flight— Our love and youth won every fight. There were no better days. We watch our children struggle now. We want to help but don’t know how. A lonely furrow they must plough And strive for better days. Better days will come. Our lives again will see the sun. A lonely furrow they must plough And strive for better days. Look at the way the world turns out: So many dreams have turned to doubts And in the trough the same old snouts, But there must be better ways. And still the people search for hope In filthy lies and dirty dope. They keep on sliding down the slope Yet they long for better days. But better days will come. Our lives again will see the sun. They keep on sliding down the slope Yet they long for better days. For life ahead we can’t rehearse. We only see things in reverse, But here for better or for worse And we hope for better days. Now hook your arm again with mine And walk with me this crooked line. At least we know that in our time We have seen better days. And better days will come. Our lives again will see the sun. At least we know that in our time We have seen better days. |
