Shame I don't live near Manchester any more or I'd be there like a shot- specially as it'll be my birthday. Great beer there and lovely food- game pie on the menu last time I was there. Have fun! |

16 Dec 12 - 05:04 PM (#3452963) Subject: RE: Manchester Christmas Sing 16.12.12 2pm From: Phil Edwards Ha! I very nearly didn't go at all because I thought it'd be packed out. I was very nearly right, too. Many thanks to the people (I won't name them) who magically budged enough space out of a packed bench for me to sit down. And thanks to Becky and the YUs for putting on a great sing. |
17 Dec 12 - 07:07 AM (#3453233) Subject: RE: Manchester Christmas Sing 16.12.12 2pm From: C Stuart Cook It sounded brilliant from outside but nobody seemed that willing to do much squeezing up so after a listen I headed off for a ghoulash soup on the Christmas Markets. Called in again on the way back but even when one couple left the space was immediately filled up by people spreading out. Shame as there was some really good singing to heard even if it was slightly muffled on the landing. Young lass behind the door sang beautifully. Nice to see a good spread of ages as well. Save all my newly learned Christmas songs for next year. |
17 Dec 12 - 05:28 PM (#3453475) Subject: RE: Manchester Christmas Sing 16.12.12 2pm From: Weasel I was outside the door all afternoon and it still sounded great and the little I could see through the gap between the door and the door frame looked good too. I'll get there earlier next time. Weasel. |
