Tech: 'new' word on my screen

At the top left of my screen, just under Mudcat Cafe and above |Lyrics & Knowledge is the word 'new'.
It IS new, wasn't there yesterday. Who put it there? Has everyone got one? It's not a clicky so what's it for?

I see it too-- in Firefox.

I noticed it a few days back - I prodded it with my cursor but as it didn't do anything, I promptly forgot about it.

but it's still there! Now you have me wondering what it is.

I've got it in IE and Chrome.

My guess is that it means Mudcat is running on the PHP/Linux setup, rather the old Coldfusion. If that means nothing, don't worry - it shouldn't matter, unless you find something that isn't working how it used to, in which case let a mudelf know.

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there...

It's okay, he's gone!

If the last 3 posts mean that the word isn't there any more; then, yes it is, at the top of my Mudcat, both on Firefox & Safari.

If that isn't what Guest, Mo & Nigel meant, then what precisely were they on about?

Yes, Bruce ~~ but with what relevance to the ongoing discourse?

Michael,

I read the rhymes they chose to show
And must admit I do not know.

T'was rumored here, t'was here I heard
Max had writ a magic word
For those who couldn't notice what was true, yeah.
He wrote it small, to save on space
And it was all in lower case
But above all other text, he wrote "new", yeah!

Ongoing discourse:
A. There's a word in the upper left of my page. It say's "new"--what's it mean?
B. It means it's a new version of Mudcat.
A. Oh
B. Shame no one's written a song about it.
A. Lemme try:
Let's wax our poetical
It ain't hypothetical
Don't have to be symmetrical
Anyone remember "Metrecal"
...well, that's a start.
B. You suck
A. You suck more
...etc., and on to 400+ posts.

Well M. I was just replying to Guest. After all, the original question has been answered.

If you'd like another question about the workings of the Mudcat Screen -
Why do the threads I have read all the post of sometimes change colour and sometimes not?

"Why do the threads I have read all the post of sometimes change colour and sometimes not?"

That happens to me, too. I put it off to the drugs.

Hi,

For me it isn't there. It is, however, behind "Cafétm", and above "Page Record". I take it, it's to be able to tell the versions apart.

Bye,
