28 Dec 12 - 12:38 PM (#3458222) Subject: Obit: Sean McNamara of Liverpool Ceili Band From: Matthew Edwards Noreen has passed me via Facebook the sad news that Sean McNamara has died on 21 December 2012; he was one of the founding members of the Liverpool Céilí Band which won the All-Ireland Fleadh twice in 1963 and 1964. There are others here who knew him far better than I did; I saw him a few times at the Liverpool Irish Centre, and at the National Festival in 2004 when he gave a talk which Fred McCormick has posted on the Musical Traditions website, Liverpool fiddler. Sean himself wrote about the band in a newspaper article which is reproduced on the Liverpool Comhaltas website. The Liverpool Comhaltas home page shows tweets giving the funeral details as being at Bishop Eaton church, Woolton Road, Liverpool L16 8NQ at 12 noon on Monday 31 December 2012. Matthew |

The funeral mass will be at 12 noon on Monday 31st Dec as already stated. See Google map here. See you there, Fred. Matthew |
