From: GUEST,leeneia I was just looking for a MIDI of "Petite Fleur" to download, and once again Google said I could find one on a site called electrofresh.com So I went to the page Google had linked and saw that it claims to have a MIDI of 'Petite Fleur.' But when I click on petitefleur.mid what do I get? A useless HTML file. Does anybody know how to get a real MIDI off this site? Is there some new technique I have yet to learn? |

I clicked on both the name and the little "V" icon, and got the midi file both times. Sometimes a browser, for one reason or another, can't open or download from a page--try opening the page in a different browser and see if that helps. |

12 Jan 13 - 11:23 AM (#3465011) Subject: RE: Tech: electrofresh.com - what the? From: GUEST,leeneia Last night I downloaded the electrofresh MIDI and found it unusable. It is what I call a 'touchy-feely MIDI,' one where every tiny change of duration is noted and produces a wealth of crazy note lengths. Sometimes I can fix those, but not this time. Jack's MIDI had the disadvantage of being hard to read (for me, because I have pretty bad eyes), so I opened it and NWC and copied it. I tried to kid myself that I would play it in the given key of B-flat, but around midnight a voice said, "Just change it to C and play it more-or-less in Am," so that's what I did. When I'm transcribing music, the hardest thing to do is to notate the timing. I'm so grateful I had that music from Jack's Swiss site to guide me. The timing on that thing! Whole notes tied to a quarter note, quarter-note triplets! (I thought only the Jesuits did that.) It's a sophisticated piece. Thanks, all. |
