It should be an evening filled with warmth and humor. Gifted singer/songwriter Joanne Lurgio will open for Vance. The music starts at 8 PM at Stone Soup Coffeehouse in the hall of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 50 Park Place, Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Pawtucket is just south of the Massachusetts state line and just north of Providence, and Stone Soup is just a few blocks from Rt. 95's Exit 27. I met Vance at the Shelter Valley Folk Festival near Grafton in Southern Ontario. We had a discussion about Oscar Brown Jr. in the hospitality tent. I could see Oscar's influence in his work. I became a fan of Vance that weekend. |
