Superb music and good-natured banter from Joe and Belinda. Catch the trio at festivals this summer if you can - you won't be disappointed. |

17 Jan 13 - 07:45 PM (#3467840) Subject: RE: Nic Jones at Hebden Bridge - TONIGHT From: GUEST,henryp The most emotionally charged concert I have been to! And it was musically rewarding too. Nic sang increasingly strongly to beautifully judged accompaniments from Joe on guitar and Belinda on piano. Nic appeared totally at ease. How he talked - and talked - and talked! The audience was totally supportive and outsang the trio in a closing chorus of Little Pot Stove. The trio will be wonderful at festivals - do go and experience their music. And I must add a kind word too for O'Hooley and Tidow who warmed up the audience on a chilly evening. A pity Mr O'Hooley was trapped in the snow and missed it! |

18 Jan 13 - 07:28 AM (#3468003) Subject: RE: Nic Jones at Hebden Bridge - TONIGHT From: Howard Jones Great to hear. I would love to have gone to this, although the OP was the first I'd heard about it. However in view of the weather forecast I didn't feel like risking the journey over the Pennines. |
18 Jan 13 - 04:46 PM (#3468235) Subject: RE: Nic Jones at Hebden Bridge - TONIGHT From: GUEST,oggie That was one of the great gigs I have been to. 90 minute set and it wasn't just a "greatest hits" set, there was new material and a sense of a musician still moving forward. His son Joe played beautifully, there were times when I could have shut my eyes and imagined it was Nic playing. If you get chance to see them this year it's well worth the effort. Steve |

Let's hope I can catch the trio at a festival later this year. Best wishes to Nic - and well done mate! |
