So it is a cause close to our hearts. What can you do ...... we've had a web presence since September last year, that isn't hard to find. I don't know when the Air Ambulance fundraiser was set up? Our catchment is probably more YAA supporters and Great Heck Brewery fans than folkies, and Steve Tilston will pull in a crowd anywhere. It's a shame for me because I would have liked to have come to your fest. I wasn't aware of the dates until it was mentioned here, and I had checked all the lists that I could find. Then there are the other events that have appeared recently on that weekend; the autoharp festival at Gargrave, the Doncaster folk fest and Swaledale festival. Damn! Couldn't find any reference to The Doncaster festival (actually your post is the first I've heard of it). We've been in dialogue with the Swaledale festival and decided(with them) that our event is complimentary to theirs rather than clashing in any way. They have no "folky" events that weekend and are doing nothing in Bedale this year (Swaledale fest runs for several weeks throughout Swaledale and covers all arts). I guess people can pay their money and take their choice! Why not come up on Friday night or Sunday? |
