Tomorrow, Sunday, we'll be attempting to sing sea shanties at The Narrows Tavern in Waldoboro Anyone with an interest in such stuff is invited to come out and sing, play, beat a drum or just listen (there's also an excellent russian imperial stout on tap) Hope to start at 3 in the afternoon so you can bring the kiddies. Maybe a weekly event if there's enough interest.
The Narrows is on rt 220 in Waldoboro village in midcoast Maine.

Brian, good luck with the singing. May I suggest that the next time you post such to Mudcat you give more notice? It might help attendance for out-of-towners who want to go.

Best wishes to you.

999, if you'll go to a singing session in Maine, I'll go. Can we meet in Portsmouth the first gathering after the Getaway?

Hey, I'm not kidding, 999. You're one Mudcatter I really want to meet. Another thing I've been meaning to do is drive along the St. Lawrence River as far as I can go. Wanna go along?

Drat! I'd love to be there, but I'm away this weekend!!! Is this going to be a monthly session?

Brian-

I'll give this serious consideration. Waldoboro is only 40 minutes away and I haven't seen you in a long time.

It would be nice to see you, Charley--Those Press Room sessions just got a little too far for me

Joe, and if you come to Portsmouth, try to aim for a Friday -- our session at The Press Room runs from 4:30 to 9:00. And if it's the third Saturday of the month, there's a sea music sing on Saturday from 3:30-7:30.

Brian, it would be great to run up to the sing today, but, alas, it's just a little too long a commute. Same reason we're missing you at ours. (And Tom and I live a half hour further away from Portsmouth.) Miss both you and Laura.

One of these days...

Meanwhile, have fun!

Linn

Brian's sea music session got off to a good start at the Narrows Tavern last Sunday. There were about 8 or so active singers and more people listening in. I certainly enjoy harmonizing with Brian. He led several Stan Rogers songs that I haven't had a chance to sing along on in ages.

Brian should be deciding soon if this will be a weekly, biweekly or monthly event.

Charley Noble

Thanks!
