Announcing 'The Trad Mentors', Ireland's trad music collective with a view of inspiring the masses…

The Trad Mentors are a collective of some of Ireland's best known and respected musicians. The group came together in Winter 2012 to teach their skills to budding musicians around the world.

"There are various online traditional and folk music schools out there, but we wanted to create something that gave the learner a more personal, one-to-one experience," says renowned Uilleann Piper and producer John McSherry, a co-founder of the Trad Mentors collective.

Through their website, The Trad Mentors offer lessons in instruments now staple in traditional music: fiddle, bodhrán, guitar, banjo, concertina, flute, whistles, accordion, bouzouki, harp, uilleann pipes and low whistles. Offering traditional singing lessons is Niamh Parsons, whose voice is synonymous internationally with Irish traditional song.

Known as touring musicians and recording artists, the Trad Mentors have also been individually teaching at festivals and workshops throughout the world for many years. Together, they are also available as a touring band for both concerts and workshops.

Singer Niamh Parsons, another of the Trad Mentors' co-founders says, "Irish traditional music is huge everywhere – Europe, America, Australia, Japan – so we hope to offer fans of the music and musicians wanting to learn the traditions a great personal way to do it."

With such a diverse and revered grouping of musicians, The Trad Mentors offer an innovative new way to inspire, teach and create an ever-rising generation of Irish traditional musicians and followers throughout the world.

Not necessarily - you would be better off writing to the mentor involved and having a discussion about what the student wants and how the mentor can provide, then talk money. Ok?

No. "Book a lesson FROM 30 Euros a time"

Must be honest, I have met Brian Finnegan and Gino Lupari and they are lovely fellas and always ready to talk about music and help anyone. However I can't imagine either of them rolling out of bed at 3 in the morning to give Skype lesson to someone in Perth for 30 Euros? And I assume that the site owners don't provide their middle man service gratis?

Also is the technology there? Skype isn't exactly up to picking up fine detail is it.
