BS: Hillary 2016

I'm glad you brought this up, songwronger.

Yes,
Hillary Clinton would make an excellent President. She proved herself as Secretary of State. I suppose the pundits will point out all sorts of minor shortcomings and make them into major issues, but Hillary is a strong, intelligent woman who would do an excellent job as President.

Minor shortcomings Joe Offer? And others...
The whole planet is in shit street because of the "minor shortcomings" of the megalomaniac US 'foreign policy' (sic) under the less than benign (shall we not beat about the bush, and just say "arrogant"?) oversight of a progression of hard-arsed (note spelling) women as secretaries of what-the-fuck 'state' or whatever, Clinton, Rice, Albright on the whims of tweedle-dum and tweedle-dumber presidents at the behest of YOUR (USAn) totally in control military industrial complex and its wanker-bankers.
All while your cities fall apart and your people have fewer and fewer of your vaunted freedoms... And while you're at it, tell me about your surveillance state, hmmm? The new CIA helmsman? Anything (other than patriotic memes)?
Non equidam invideo, miror magis.
And please don't peddle the Obama line about good people being held back by the naughty republican teabaggers. It's bullshit.

I'm totally against Hillary becoming president. If we get behind Michelle Obama however we can save a fortune in moving expenses. And we'll continue the recovery we deserve. And all of my redneck cousins will have mental breakdowns.

I just cant believe that after the last ten years , anybody would want to vote for "more of the same".....Hillary the Hawk is poison.

Haven't you had enough of the fucking Clintons?

Incompetent? Manipulative? Drink problem? Steeped in the politics of greed and inequality?......oh well, maybe not!

The last messiah turned out to be a phoney.
If you want to start afresh, dont use the old boiler.

Hey - Lets give it at least a year before we start the political wars here! Sheesh - we are only into, what, the second month of President Obamas second term!

My take is to wait until we see just who surfaces in the Democrat primary field (there is bound to be quite a few). We can have the fun and vitriol later - for now lets just chill for a year or so.

@Bill D - I am very, VERY angry at the successive running-dog governments (of ALL parties) of AUSTRALIA, where I live and work (and sing and play) for being heavily involved in the same criminal enterprises as the USofA, and whose spokesbulldozers presume to speak for those of us who resist, who reject and who speak out against these imperialist warcrimes and their perpetrators.

Propagandists and apologists here in Oz dance to the same tune yours do, media ownership being what it is. The fearmongers' handiwork is pretty much everywhere. All we can (perhaps?) hope for is that peoples, nations, ethnicities can be 'permitted' by the powerful (read well-armed) to sort out their own problems, and choose how they/we want to live more peaceful and meaningful lives.

Australian soldiers shot and killed two Afghan boys aged 7 and 8 just the other day. However "it was an accident" and some acronymic organisation (NATO, ISAF, SNAFU, something like that) has "apologised". This is apparently 'acceptable' to Sec. State, Whitehouse, Houston Control and those pricks in Canberra. But it's not to me, just as it was very much not alright to be in the Vietnam enterprise - 'all the way with LBJ' - FUCK OFF!

I'm hopping mad Bill D, I am very pissed off, livid, whipping the fucking cat, orright mate!?

I think that was the long term strategy SW, but the plan has been overtaken by events.
The Clintons missed the boat in 2008 when black America voted 95% for Obama. Now i believe " health problems" will force them to abandon their quest for power.

Too early for a "gay" president, so the next most popular sideshow will be the first female pres...... but where in the Democrat ranks are they going to find anyone with the looks or gut appeal of Mrs Palin?
There does not appear to be any inspirational figures in Democrat politics.

I'd love to see Palin on the ticket in '16 but even though the Repubs are remarkably slow learners I don't think they're dumb enough to try her again. A Palin canidacy would be the stake through the GOP's heart (assuming they have one).

Subject: RE: BS: Hillary 2016

I'm not a Hillary fan. I'd vote for her in the general election if she were to be the nominee, but the rest of the field would have to be extremely dismal before I'd vote for her in the primary.

As for Palin, her political career is over. She resigned the governorship of a state to become a media personality. Her primary opponents would gladly use that as evidence of lack of the commitment to public service necessary to be president.

She got a freebie in 2008 by being selected as McCain's running mate without having participated in the primary process.* The only people who talked bad about her were Democrats. If she tries a run in 2016, guys like Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan, and Rand Paul won't hesitate to chew her a brand new asshole.

*By the way, I believe both parties should adopt a policy of limiting the selection of vice-presidential nominees to those who actually campaigned in the presidential primaries. If they're going to be a "heartbeat away from the presidency" I'd like to know they were interested enough in the job to at least try and get it on their own merits instead of having it handed to them as first prize in a closed-door popularity contest.

I saw some statistics this morning that said that in a survey just taken, Hillary would trounce any of the possible Republican candidates on the scene. Unless the GOP can come up with a real dark horse.

'Course the Democrats might have a dark horse lurking out there as well.

Well, so far, Hillary Clinton is the only credible candidate from either party. It's only 2013, the first year of Obama's second term, and there's no reason for things to start to gel until the end of 2015 - so I guess it's wide open. I wonder what will develop in the next two years. I'm hoping for a Democratic majority in both houses of Congress in 2014, so Obama can accomplish something before the end of his term.

Whether some of you know it or not, a vote for Hillary is like voting for Bush. They are part of the same agenda...just different disguises!
...but then, people who vote primarily for color or gender, don't know shit from Shinola! Only 'so-calleds' could be so blind! The Presidency and cabinet posts are not meant to be a 'social experiment', nor a feeding trough for corrupt crony jerk-offs. Jeez!..Haven't we had enough of them???
I can't say much better for Palin, McCain or any other chameleons on the 'right', either!
Haven't we had enough of all these out-front lying, deceptive crooks?

The truth is, our nation is in complete disarray, because of it....and you want MORE??????????

Name SOMETHING correct that has come out of it.....

....Oh, I got it...MORE HOPE and Change????

We had that, next time let's get a speech on just what that 'CHANGE' is supposed to be....not that you could believe that either....Oh, and 'You can keep your existing health care coverage, too'....that is if 'our' new healthcare plan doesn't force the insurance companies from dropping you!

If I want to gamble on 'Hope and Change', I think I'd rather buy a three dollar lottery ticket with a five dollar bill!!

Really guys, it's time to forget the partisan bullshit rhetoric, consider the track record, without bias, and back someone new, and hopefully honest.....problem is, there aren't any!

So quit fooling yourself, and talking yourself into how much bullshit you're willing to swallow!

.....after all, 'You are what you eat'!!!!!!!!!

No guarantee Hillary WILL run.... but she's got to do the things candidates do in order to be ready. Many things can happen in a year or so to change the landscape..... even health.

The Democrats have a number of candidates who...I think... could do the job, but name recognition and fund-raising are huge obstacles these days... and Hillary has everyone's attention until she either declares or backs out.

I'd vote for Elizabeth Warren in a heartbeat, but I think she is so valuable where she is.

I'm sure Joe Biden could do the job, but he has so many film clips of himself making off-the-wall remarks...all no doubt stored & ready by Republicans.

The Republicans have NO ONE in sight right now that has studied History, the Constitution, relevant public policy....etc. All they do is toss off conservative talking points...even when some contradict others.
They are forming interactive circular firing squads to shoot down Cristie, Jeb Bush... and each other. I don't think they expect to win in 2016, and are just positioning themselves for jobs & $$$$ from the exposure.

27 Oct 13 - 03:43 PM (#3570554)
Subject: RE: BS: Hillary 2016
From: Bobert

Bottom line here is the Republicans are a minority party nationally and losing ground... They cannot and will not win the Senate or the White House in 2016... They badly need to reorganize under a more tolerant and less dogmatic banner and that ain't gonna happen between now and 2016 as they fight amongst themselves...

So, no matter who the Dems run the Dems will win the White House in 2016...

As we all know, what looks like a sure thing in politics can change dramatically at a moment's notice. Still, it seems that the Republicans have painted themselves into the far right corner of the room, where all the would be candidates are unacceptable to moderates, independents, and anybody with a modicum of sense. I like Biden, but can't see him getting the nomination. We need Warren in the senate. As things stand Hillary seems like a formidable candidate, although not a thrilling choice for those of us on the left.

I didn't want to start a new thread for this, but I thought it was worth a look. I came across this in the online forum of our local newspaper. It's a pretty good summary of what my neighbors seem to think of Hillary:
Hillary is scarier than Satan. Hillary is all things evil. Hillary is the cause of all things evil. Hillary slapped God. Hillary punched Jesus. Hillary killed all those who were against her. Hillary hates women. Hillary hates men. Hillary is a lesbian. Hillary robbed all the American banks. Hillary hates healthcare. Hillary hates children. Hillary hates glitter. Hillary hates the sun and moon and stars. Hillary will kill you after she takes your guns. Hillary will allow gay people to take your jobs. Hillary will let those Mexican kids stay in America. Hillary can read your mind. Hillary is responsible for men who cheat on their wives. Hillary believes climate change science. Hillary is so smart that no one can prove her crimes. Hillary hates. . .. Hillary lies. . .. Can we get an amen?
And for those reasons, I'm supporting Hillary Clinton.
