Just a quick note to let you all know that the Whitby Spring Session is taking place this year Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th May (with the Bank Holiday Monday being the 6th)

The format is simple with sessions in the daytime and a concert in the evening.... Camping is available at the main venue (Whitby Rugby Club)... with brand new changing rooms, toilets and shower facilities...

Artists apearing so far include: Other Roads, Rosie Hodgson, Something Nasty in the Woodshed, Alistair Rusell, Emma and the Professor, The Chimney Boys, Stony and Dan Donnelly...

Musicians and singers sessions during the day in the town centre...

Thanks

Hi "concerned"... we ran the Moor & Coast Festival for 13 years mostly on this May Bank Holiday weekend... When we finished the festival I changed the Whitby Spring Session to the end of May, and I got "flack" for being on the same weekend as Rydale... last year we couldn't do anything cos of the Queens Jubilee so we thought we would go back to our normal spot...

We do not class ourselves as a festival anyway... we are a session weekend... very similar to Filey... more of a folk club with camping... limited numbers of people...

Its about 27 miles from Whitby to Filey... (a similar distance to Rydale) so I dont think we will impact on each other... I hope not...!!

Perhaps we should start one the same weekend in Scarborough to complete the East Coast set?

"Concerened" think postive !

If you get yourself accommodation in Scarborough you can visit two festivals in one weekend. A bonus me thinks.

Everyone else please note "Concerened" is spelt that way because thats the way the "guest" spelt it.

Oh yes it can, lowest temperature I have even encountered was Minus 26. Stanton St John just outside Oxford in the winter of 1981-2. I think a lower temperature has been registered in the UK since then

Coming up from Kent for the bank holiday in Whitby and wondered if there would be tickets available for each night. Want to be there on saturday, certainly, maybe more. Also, could we camp there?
