I can't find anything on Mudcat about this Yeae's Crediton Folk Weekend....so here we are! Who's going?

Loxley is booked again this year, so see you there.

Festival website here - Derek and I appear to be on the guest list too, so we'll see you there! The new-look website makes provision for booking tickets online this year, as well as having the booking form for people to print out if they'd rather book by post.

It looks as though singarounds will be in the old school and church this year, so warmer than in the Half Moon barn!!

As this festival is next weekend, I'm really surprised there are no entries here from the mudcats who are going. Is anyone going?

I want to pick brains about the best way to go, from Exeter to Cheriton fitzpaine, towing a caravan.

I'm probably not going and have never towed a caravan (only a hay-trailer with a tractor - but you usually win any confrontations with those) but I am a terrible driver in a car and do live round here so perhaps my advice is relevant. (Not to suggest caravan towers are terrible drivers!!)

When I go out that way I always take the A377 to Crediton then the A3072 (that's signposted to Tiverton). Cheriton Fitzpaine is about 1½ miles off to the right of that road. You've only got a short stretch of typical Devon sunken road and a couple of sharpish turns in Crediton itself if you go that way.

Perhaps you'll get some sager advice from other caravaners yet.

There will be a Mud gather 3pm in the old thatched school on Saturday . Mr Scarecrow and I have the honour of hosting it and look forward to seeing a load of catters there (with chocolate of course).
Looks like being a great festival this year and for those of us in the frozen west midlands and anywhere else particularly cold I understand that Spring has actually appeared in Devon so it will be well worth the Journey!

Not to miss the opportunity for some publicity I should have added the Dave and I are performing there again this weekend.

We use the route that Steve has mentioned above, but that's in a campervan, not towing a caravan....

We're singing in the church on Saturday afternoon, so will get to the Mudgather late if at all....

Weather forecast looks a bit damp for Saturday, so hope to see lots of you in the church on Saturday afternoon!

Looking forward to tomorrow.

Well the rest of you 'catters missed a really excellent festival. The mudgather was attended but not in the main by catters Robbie Wilson being the only one apart from Mr Scarecrow and myself. Herga Kitty was performing elsewhere at the time. We had a pleasant sing though and did eat chocolate !!

Too busy playing for the morris to make the Mudgather. Some excellent sides there and a fine mummers play.
