11 Mar 13 - 08:11 PM (#3489355) Subject: Origins: Wake Up Suzie From: GUEST,Franz S. I've been digitizing the 78s again. Found a 12-inch 78 entitled "Wake Up Suzie". It's on Folkcraft records (a division of K-W Records, the label says), recorded in Texas, doesn't say when. The tune is a very uptempo fiddle piece which bears no resemblance at all to the Everly Brother song as far as I can tell. A quick Google shows nothing on the song or the record company. There is a Folkcraft Record Co. in New Jersey, but I don't know if it's the same one. Interesting. Anyone know anything? |

You might check to see if this is the same tune. The discussion was at: Fiddle hangout There are also a some recordings on youtube entitles Wake Up Suzie reel (which seems to be a version of The Mason's Apron - I think that might have been mentioned on that thread too).
