I'm looking for the song and artist that contains this phrase:

"Jimmy, Jimmy, please don't cry; or "Jenny, Jenny, please don't cry..." .... I waited ten years and more; .... I married your best friend John."

It's a song about two people, an older man and a younger girl who grows up; the girl gives the man a letter, which he reads and then goes to tell her that she's too young. He leaves, and then realizes his mistake. When he returns, she's married his best friend John.
