I read it, anyway. Wish I were in Texas for yours. Maybe if you put it under "Mudcatter Scheduled Performances" or some such title...?

Liam -- Do you happen to have a web page? If so, I would be glad to put a link to it on my "Irish in Texas" page!

Mian and Aine -

Actually I posted this originally to get to Bert and Max who had solictied such information for their radio show broadcasts. I don't really want to clutter up the forum with threads like this.

By the way;I will have a webpage sometime in 2000. I'm in no hurry to get one up, since I have a lot of other stuff going on, at the moment - BUT, I will take you up on your kind offer to post a link to it.

posting information re: upcoming concerts, etc is not "clutter" -- Max and Bert have specifically requested such, PLUS upcoming performances are of interest to the people coming onto the forum. I certainly would be interested to know where local 'Catters are performing, or who would be performing in areas when I travel.

What I would like is for threads about any upcoming events, performances CD relesaes etc. to be posted and refreshed of Tuesday and Wednesday. Then I can pick them up for the show.

Thanks,

Bert.

Maybe a "Thought for the day {date}" sort of "Mudcat Events for the Week {date}" would keep things rolling. Sounds great, Bert. I update my info weekly. I can also put in info re: Dallas seesions (since I am also a session junkie)!

Dear Bert,

Help! I can't figure out how to email an MP3 file of the Mudcat Tavern Anthem to Max (or yourself) for the show tomorrow. Can you explain to me how in the world do I do this? Thank in advance, Áine

Bert - I had created a new thread, called Week of Nov 8 - Mudcat Events. But it appears you wish to use this thread to post Mudcatters events to be available to you for the Mudcat Radio show, so here goes:

I will be playing this week at:

The Y.O. Ranch , on Ross in Dallas's West End on Fri Nov 12 from 7 to 11PM

The Celtic Quill, on Laws @ Munger, also in Dallas's West End on Sat Nov 13. I will be playing the Quill with my friend and occasional music partner, the dashing, the outrageous, the effervescent, Rene Lawrence (see pics link below).

As always, I will be at the Sons of Hermann acoustic jam on Thursday night. This is one of Dallas's oldest, and best sessions. It starts at about 7:30 and runs 'til the last player drops or the place closes at 1. If yer in Dallas on any Thursday, and ya love real live, acoustic music; Ya gotta see the jam at the Sons!

I have posted a few pics of last week's show at the Emerald Mist where many of Dallas's top Celtic and folk performers played a benefit for one of the Southwest Celtic Music Association members. There're also a couple of pics from Halloween. By the way, Jed Marum is the name I use for performance. If y'all are in Dallas and have a chance to stop by, I would love to see ya!

Bert/Max...

I have a "raw mix" of my groups new recording, (to be released next spring) and would be happy to send you a track for use on the show (MP3 format) if it's something you think you would like to try. If it's your wish, please advise where to send...

Dear Bert,

I sent the MP3 of the 'Mudcat Tavern Anthem' to Max early this morning at 'contribute@mudcat.org' -- I haven't seen it kicked back to me yet, so I'm assuming that it got where I thought it was going . . .

I hope you guys can play it tonight (and, yes, the verses you wrote are in there!) . . . If you have a chance to listen to it beforehand, the last line is a kicker!

See ya on the MCR tonight, Áine

Perhaps a kind hearted forum editor type person would remove my errant post above, in lieu of the corrected (and HTML tested) version to follow this post! (I am learning!)

Whoops, sorry Liam I didn't see that Nov 8th thread or I'd have refreshed that instead.

I think Aine has it right... contribute@mudcat.org

If that doesn't work you could email stuff to me at albert.hansell@bentley.com

OK. folks! anything else happenning this week? Post it here. Personal events and bragging are most welcome, so if you have a gig this week or are releasing a new CD or whatever, POST the info NOW!

Bert.

Great News, Liam! How would you like me to name your 'link' on my 'Irish in Texas' page? Here's the URL so you can check it out yourself:

http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Parthenon/8998/irishtexas4.html

Great good luck with your page! I took a look at some of the photos and they're great!

In a few days my own domain name will be available on the Internet, you could post that link now or in the next few days. That name is jedmarum.com (rather than the temp one I just gave you) - it is registered today, and the host site is up, but it takes a few days for all of the routers to 'learn' the location.

I will check out the Irish in Texas Site. I have often described myself as a "Boston born Irishman, living in Texas" - and on my website, I have some geneology info, some family history and will have more ... so it is appropriate that you link me to the Irish in Texas Site.

Thanks!

PS: are you in Texas?
