06 May 13 - 03:06 PM (#3512256) Subject: RE: Sweeps at the Good Intent From: Richard Bridge Sunday day was absolutely lovely. Sunday evening we all seemed to get a bit damaged. And while I was inside in the evening singing and stuff (there are two versions to this story, and I try to report it non-confrontationally) my son-in-law had a conversation with my girlfriend about whether I was - er - a little too old for her, horizontally speaking, and got a VERY detailed report setting out why not. My daughter has been looking at me suspiciously ever since. Then my tribe sent back to my house at about midnight and my girlfriend to the campsite with her morris side. Out came the red wine and cheese, followed by my vinyl collection. Daughter crashed out at about 1:30. I crashed out at about 2:30 and heard not a thing thereafter although I gather that my 200 watt (RMS) hifi system was full bore with the old vinyl immediately below my bedroom until about 5 am, and loudly audible at the end of the 100 foot garden. A few damaged people this morning for the pigmeats! |
07 May 13 - 04:30 PM (#3512722) Subject: RE: Sweeps at the Good Intent From: growler I would like to thank Dal and Karen for their hard work. With Karen recovering from spine surgery, Dal has worked his socks off, with the help of the brillient staff, he used to be 6' 7''. Year after year, the 'Good Intent', has become the place to be, away from the lager swilling idiots in the high street. Another enjoyable and succesful Sweeps. Here's to the Landlord and Landlady!!!! |

08 May 13 - 07:54 AM (#3512960) Subject: RE: Sweeps at the Good Intent From: GUEST,FloraG The whole weekend worked well for us. Great weather, amiable house guests, folk club, playing for the morris with the best band I think the side has had, 2 evenings at the GI, finding a possible folk club booking, the session at the Kent Wildlife trust, a banjo and mandolin session and watching the procession. During Bobs session on the Saturday evening a gent fell asleep and his guitar knocked over his pint and broke the glass. No fuss or bother, Dal just cleared it up with a smile. I think its well done to all the Sweeps and KWT organisers, as wel as the GI. FloraG |
