Lyr Req: Little Jackie Frost

My Kansas grandmother sang Little Jackie Frost:

Little Jackie Frost was fierce and bold.
He makes the little children shake with cold.
. . . . turning all the leaves red, brown and gold.
. . . painting all the windows. . . .

Bidding them goodbye with a tap! Tap! Tap!

Can anyone supply any more lyrics? I remember the tune.

This is not the right one - but since I found it, I thought I'd post it:
LITTLE JACKIE, JACK FROST

Little Jackie, Jack Frost
Little Jackie, Jack Frost bites my nose,
Little Jackie, Jack Frost stings my toes,
Little Jackie, Jack Frost climbs the trees,
Little Jackie, Jack Frost paints the leaves.

Little Jackie, Jack Frost thinks it's fun
Knocking all the leaves down one by one.
When the winter wind begins to blow,
Little Jackie runs away, Ho! Ho!

And a couple of YouTube videos of little girls singing yet another "Little Jackie Frost" song:

Little Jackie Frost, pinch my nose.
Little Jackie Frost, pinch my toes,
And so I went into the house, and I shut the door,
And Little Jackie Frost didn't pinch me anymore.

This isn't the right one, either, but I thought I'd add it:

JACKY FROST
(poem by Laura E. Richards, music by Eleanor Smith)

Jacky Frost, Jacky Frost,
Came in the night;
Left the meadows that he crossed,
All gleaming white.
Painted with his silver brush
Every window-pane.
Kissed the leaves and made them blush,
Blush and blush again.

Jacky Frost, Jacky Frost,
Crept around the house,
Sly as a silver fox,
Still as a mouse.
Out our little Jenny came,
Blushing like a rose;
Up jumped Jacky Frost,
And pinched her little nose.

The song appears in "The Common School Book of Vocal Music" by Eleanor Smith, and is over a hundred years old.

And some more from an archive of a dead page, http://www.earlyliterature.ecsd.net/jack_frost.htm

Jack Frost

Jack Frost is a fairy small.
I'm sure he is out today.
He nipped my nose.
And pinched my toes.
When I went out to play.

Jack Frost

Who comes creeping in the night
When the moon is clear and bright?
Who paints the tree leaves red and gold
When the autumn days turn cold?
Up the hill and down he goes
In and out the brown corn rows
Making music crackling sweet,
With his little frosty feet:
Jack Frost!

When Jack Frost Comes

When Jack Frost comes -
Oh the fun!
He plays pranks on everyone.
He'll pinch your nose,
He'll bite your toes.
But where he lives -
Why nobody knows.
He paints upon the windowpanes,
Tin soldiers, bears
And choo-choo trains.
He nips the leaves
From off the trees,
This little man whom no one sees.

The Brook and Jack Frost

A pretty brook was running at play
With little Jack Frost
On a cold winter's day.
It stopped to rest
At the foot of a hill.
Making a pond all quiet and still.
"Aha!" said Jack,
"Now isn't that nice?"
And quickly he turned
The water to ice.

My Nose

Where did you get that little red nose?
Jack Frost kissed it, I suppose.
He kissed it once, he kissed it twice,
Poor little nose, it's as cold as ice.

Who's There?

Jack Frost rapped on the windowpane
And knocked on the door
With his icicle cane.
"Excuse me," I said.
"The door is shut tight.
I'd rather you did not come in tonight."
So he wrote his name
All over the glass
And I knew Jack Frost
Was the one to pass.

Jack Frost

Who comes creeping
In the night?
When the moon
Is clear and bright?
Who paints the tree leaves
Red and gold
When the autumn days
Turn cold?
Up the hill and down he goes
In and out the gold grain rows
Making music crackling sweet,
With his little frosty feet,
Jack Frost!

A Riddle

Somebody's been in the garden
Nipping the blossoms fair;
All the green gardens are darkened;
Who do you think was there?

My Texas grandmother sang that song too. These are lyrics I remember. Would love to know them all. "Little Jackie Frost came over the hill, On a starry night when all was still, Painting all the leaves yellow, brown and gold..."

Little Jackie Frost

(My Grandmother Dorothy Leighton Hoovler sang me this song when I was a child. There were two lines missing, only one of which I was able to remember). Thanks to those who have responded to my original request!

Little Jackie Frost is fierce and bold,
He makes the little children shake with cold
. . . . . .
Painting all the leaves red, brown and gold.
On each little flower he placed a frosty cap,
Bidding them goodbye with a tip, tap, tap.

Soon they will sleep in the earth below
Under a blanket of ice and snow,
Waking up again in springtime gay
After Jackie Frost has gone away.
