The mix-up may be due to the fact that Percy Dearmer and Martin Shaw collaborated on a number of hymn-books, such as the English Carol Book, Songs of Praise, the Oxford Book of Carols etc etc. Glad Hearts was written for the Girl Guide Movement. The author, MA Macdonald, was Chief Guide at the time. It became very popular, and is still used as a school hymn.
