10 May 13 - 03:01 AM (#3513650) Subject: John Cave Lewes Saturday FC 11 May From: Valmai Goodyear John Cave, organiser of Seaford Folk Club in Sussex, is the guest performer at Lewes Saturday Folk Club this Saturday, 11th. May. This will be a good opportunity to enjoy full sets of John's own witty and amusing songs, his decidedly nifty guitar playing, and his interpretations of Jake Thackeray songs (even better than Fake Thackeray's, in my opinion). Denise and Stuart Savage are running the evening. John will give us two forty-five minute sets and the rest of the evening is filled by members of the audience doing a song or tune if they wish. Everyone is welcome, especially if you'd like to sing or play. We mostly sing and play traditional music from the British Isles, but we enjoy other styles as well. We always start off with some English dance tunes for anyone with an instrument to join in. Entrance is £5 tonight. We have a loyalty card. Six visits earn you £5 off an evening when admission is £5 or more. |
