Sitting in the Oasis café Weymouth staring out at the savage splendour of the sea. However I do feel a bit of a fraud. Recently three young fishermen were killed following their hazardous profession. The pub at which the folk club in Weymouth is held is called The Sailors Return. At their wake three drinks were left on the harbour wall for their return. Somehow it was very moving. Because the sea had taken them. Their relationship with sea as so much more vital than that of the silly old man sitting there in the café. and yet it is he who is alive - feeling something of a fraud. Hope you like the song. https://soundcloud.com/denise_whittle/weymouth-bay-love-looking-at the sea |
