Me and the Mrs JJ are off to Clearwater for a couple of weeks - anyone know of any music / sings in the area?

I believe an Irish singer by the name of Brendan N. lives there...you might ask around to see if he is performing.

Hi, John-

Click here for a nice page on events in and around Clearwater.

Gainesville (click) is not far away. The link will take you to a few events.

The Florida Folk Festival was May 24-26, and I don't think there are any other festivals in Florida this time of year.

The Sarasota Folk Club isn't far away, and they should have something going - http://www.sarafolk.org/

Here's the Tampa Tribune list of folk events, which looks pretty sparse: http://events.tboextra.com/tampa_fl/events/tampa+folk+music

In St. Pete, there's the "SoJo" (Sing Out, Jam Out) on the first Sunday of every month - http://www.meetup.com/tampabaysojo/

...and there is a Florida Folk Radio Show

Maybe the Friends of Florida Folk can help: http://www.foff.org/

I get to Sarasota every year or so to visit my dad, and I have occasionally been able to find some music. The best experience was the Florida Folk Festival.
