Paul Anderson and Jonny Hardie, invite you to join them at the first Braemar Scottish fiddle week in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park . A week of workshops, masterclasses, sessions, ceilidhs and concerts. Learn the North East Fiddle style from its best proponents. Braemar Scottish Fiddle Week 8 to 14th July 2013

Sunday the 7th of July

7.30 pm Welcome reception at historic Braemar Castle followed by a tutors recital with Paul Anderson and Jonny Hardie.

There will be three workshops each day; 10 – 11.15 am, 11.45 – 1 pm and from
2 – 3.15 pm. Between 3.45 and 5 pm there will also be the opportunity for one to one tuition with Paul and Jonny.

At 8 pm on Monday night there will be a special traditional music session at the Moorfield hotel in Braemar and all students are welcome to take part.

On Tuesday night there will be a trip up Deeside to the village of Tarland, childhood home of Peter Milne "the Tarland Minstrel". After dinner in the Commercial Hotel we'll head across the ancient village square to the Aberdeen Arms and it's famous traditional music session. It begins at 9 pm and goes on till late.

Wednesday will be a free day but there will be a bus trip up beautiful Royal Deeside which will include visits to Balmoral Castle and the Royal Lochnagar whisky distillery. Weather permitting there will be a BBQ at scenic Loch Callater on our return to Braemar – the adventurous students may wish to have an overnight stay in the MBA shelter at the loch side.

On Thursday evening there will be a guided walk up one of the many splendid local hills which should afford some spectacular views of the Cairngorms National Park.

On Friday night the fiddle school will be special guests performers at the Braemar Junior Highland Games Dinner.

After lunch on Saturday we will be rehearsing in St Margaret's church for the grand finale concert. The concert starts at 7.30 pm and as well as featuring the tutors and students we'll be joined by some of Braemar's local performers. After the concert there'll be a last night party.

Any enquiries and bookings can be made through the website www.braemarfiddlecamp.com

Although priority will be given to those coming for the whole week we would welcome those who can only make some of the days.

Hope to see some of you there!

Sounds like a cracking week - I'm sure it will be a success. It's a wee bit too far for me to join you.....and I don't play fiddle anyway!

Enjoy Loch Callater - don't forget to warn the participants about the toilet facilities!
