Malcfest 13? (Bowl, Charing, Kent, UK )

I believe this is on but does anyone know exactly when? Probably September. All I can find from Mr Google is about 2012 and previous years. I gather it's mostly prog-rock but inclusive and there is camping.

My diary says Sept 6th (a Friday). But that may have been heard through an alcohoclear implant.

Well done ripov. That would be a good date for me. I have a fiend who may be able to speak to malc - but things get lost in the translation and one might have expected stuff to be out there in the interweb if anyone was expected to turn up...

I have confirmation from the pub that it is Sept 6-8 camping available. I daresay that more info will surface in due course.

Well, well, isn't that funny. RC4 have been asked to do a spot in the Thursday sinaground and a 40-minute set at some stage over the weak end. We have accepted with thanks. I had no inkling of that happening when I started the fred, honest - not being a blatant self-publicist.

Are you there as band, duo, or what and is your timeslot confirmed?

I ahve not done this one before - does one simply arrive or what?

We're there as a band. Our time slot ( and the day we are playing ) is yet to be confirmed. From what I remember from last year, we will get to know before we turn up. We had such a fantastic time last year. The crowd are lovely; the bands are great. I seem to remember spending a good part of it flat on my back having imbibed too much whiskey! You're going to have a great time, Richard. Really glad you're coming.

Wrong reason to be in that position...

Update.

The programme is nearly finalised (and the facebook page, above, is growing).

RC4's contractual obligations are to seed the sinaround on Thursday night and to close the pub (involving an hour set in the pub) Saturday night.

Mainly trad-ish throatwarmers then on Thurs - Cari will be in charge and AFIAK will she and Tony and possibly Gemma will be on the fiddles so there will be tuneage too.

Our sat set will be with as little amplification as possible with the objective of getting punters to sing (sells more beer for the pub).

Speaking of punters, the fest and camping are free, so get yourselves down there, even if it is mostly rock and stuff, not mostly folk.

Looking forward to it.
