20 Jun 13 - 07:26 AM (#3528246) Subject: Fastnet Maritime and Folk Festival 2013 From: The Sandman I received this post concerning this years festival "Dear Dick and everyone else who worked so hard to organise the festival. We had the best time ever. It was one of the nicest, most welcoming folk festivals I have ever been to. We chose to come to a small festival, thinking that we would meet more people that way, and that was just the case. We met some lovely, colourful characters. It was also great to go to something where there were talented women musicians. The music scene in South West London is often mainly men (nothing wrong with that) - but it was nice to meet other women. And I also loved the way everyone joins in singing with everyone else. So, thank you again, it did my confidence the world of good. And hope to see you next year." |

Great hospitality, some great venues, and a delight to hear Crannich & Daley and the Cork Singers Circle (as well as all us English!). Nice one Dick - keep it going. T&B |
21 Jun 13 - 08:01 AM (#3528612) Subject: RE: Fastnet Maritime and Folk Festival 2013 From: The Sandman thnks , however I am fairly sure it would have been even busier, if the organisers of the jim dowling pipe festival had chosen another weekend other than the weekend we were already on, glengariff is 34 kilometres, or approximately 20 miles, apart from the fact that they too might have been busier, i might have liked to go myself. |
