Especially Davy Grahams version haunts my heart and ears every time I hear it. It sounds to me it could be in DADGAD tuning (;also because many claim Davy invented this particular tuning. I Haven't tried figuring out chords, as I have just heard the arrangement. I think what he's doing is playing the melody on the middle strings, mostly D and G with some exceptions. The rest is playing the higher and lower string to fill out the melody. I'd try fingering the G at the second fret for a lot of the D chord work. I think he shifts to an chord, and for that I'd finger the middle and high D strings and play the A string with the thumb. I may be off base, but start off there. |
