Visiting Konstanz

Hi all,

We will be visiting Konstanz,(Germany) for the week starting 20/07/13 and wondered if there was anything of a musical nature happening around there? Clubs, sessions, open mic etc.

Going back many years when I was a bit more active on the forum there was a group of German Mudcatters.

We will be cycling so any advice regarding velocipedes would be gratefully received too

Hi Chris,
cycling is a good idea. For example around the Bodensee. Or to the Grossen Säntis which is a mountain nearby in Switzerland. But in this case it will be better to take a bus.
In total, it's a nice, warm area of southern Germany to relax. Next to a region near Hamburg in the north (Altes Land) here are the most apple trees and other fruits which underlies the mild climate.
I may be wrong but concerning folk or jazz it seems to be desperately boring. Apart from festivals in Konstanz nothing happens which could be of your special interests.
Therefore, take the chance to relax with your family or relatives.

Best wishes,

Manfred

I'd like to visit Wolfgang Hell in Konstanz. I wonder how he's doing.

I'd also like to visit the Zeppelin Museum.

I went through Konstanz on a train trip to Switzerland in 1973, but didn't have a chance to stop. It sure looked like a beautiful place.

When I was a young soldier in the 1960s we visited Uberlingen which is on the other side of Lake Konstanz, very beautiful part of the world.
