05 Jul 13 - 05:00 PM (#3534158) Subject: German Mudcatters From: Leadbelly Hi, a quite simple question. Are there any Mudcatters in Germany? 4 years ago, when my computer broke down, there have been some of them. Being back now, I'm interested in who "survived". And newcomers are of interest, too. Nevertheless I think we are a small community only. Manfred |

06 Jul 13 - 04:19 PM (#3534474) Subject: RE: German Mudcatters From: Wotcha When I lived in Stuttgart, I may have influenced a few locals to join or check out Mudcat. Most are likely lurkers ... If in the Stuttgart area it is worth the S-Bahn ride to check out The Winnenden Folk club which is really enthusiastic about British Isles music (the town was in the news a few years back for another human tragedy). Downtown there is a music session at O'Reilly's Pub every Monday (may have changed). There is also a German Shanty Chor in a local suburb -- went to their practice session one night in 2005 -- lots of accordions and precions and painting of sinking RN ships ... Cheers/Auf widerhoeren Wotcha |

28 Jul 13 - 08:41 AM (#3542671) Subject: RE: German Mudcatters From: Susanne (skw) As Joe said, I don't log on very often these days as other interests take up more of my time, but I'm still a Mudcatter and always glad to meet others. Also, I still like to remember the last European Mudgathering here in Kiel in 2007. Should anybody feel like venturing north, Whitsun 2014 might be a good idea, when the Scheersberg Folk Festival celebrates its first 40 years. In September I'm hoping to attend Linlithgow Festival in Scotland. |
