Does anyone know this song? Alice Gerrard just requested it saying she learned it in Montana...it would be a parody of "How can I keep from Singing."

I see she is not only looking for the lyrics, but trying to find the woman who passed them along to her in Bozeman in 1992..(ALICE??!!)

I'm trying to locate a woman who gave me lyrics she'd written to the tune of How Can I Keep from Praying. Her lyrics were How Can I Keep from Fishing. This was in Bozeman, MT in 1992 after a concert there. Does anyone know who this might have been? Clues, info appreciated. Email agerrard@mindspring.com.

"they liveth" - grammatical howler (which incidentally can also be found in the curate's egg that is Hymns Old & New).
