No one was hurt, but... I was in a reality altogether different than the other members of a moment we weren't even sharing. I expect I don't know what will come in the morning but I'm packing for whatever each next minute holds. I backed up mudcat and put it on my Dropbox account as one of my first tasks... :) ...assuming mudcat even exists... I'm heading for wellness with both hands. |

Maybe somebody dropped some "bad acid" in your beer last night. Maybe you are suffering the after-effects of a head injury. Whatever it is, mental illness or something else, go to an expert and find out the real answer. |

If you're in rehab, nothing matters more than getting healthy. If you went all-in on that dental floss farm, I hope it's the organic, non GMO stuff. Three years ago, I was digging holes in the skin of my face during my sleep because of stress. I have scars from it. I thought I had a rash that would not heal, as it spread from all over my forehead to my eyelids. The third doctor I saw, a dermatologist, said, "That is from stress. I don't know what it was either, whether the sensory or emotional inputs that were screwed up, or whether your processes weren't working they way they usually do or whatever--I do know that the trick is to figure out what is malfunctioning and develop alternate strategies. If you are hearing voices that aren't there, figure out how to recognize the ones that are there and deal with them exclusively. If you're swamped with paranoiac fears, figure out how to sort them from the regular fears...etc. Maybe some meds will help, and maybe it will pass, but till then,identifying the bad stuff and developing compensatory strategies is the way to go. I know, it's easy to say, but not so easy to do, but so much of life is like that. With effort and persistence, you can make it work, maybe not like before, but in a way you can live with. There are way more of us out here keeping it together that way than you can possibly imagine...and you don't realize it, because most of the time, we are making it work. |
